Hundreds of housing units could replace former UW-Milwaukee campus in Waukesha

Developer F Street seeks to transform the site of the former University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee campus in Waukesha into about 650 housing units.

The 75.9-acre campus at 1500 N. University Drive, which the Universities of Wisconsin closed after the spring 2025 semester, is planned to be transformed into about 70 single-family homes and 580 market-rate multifamily units, according to the county and F Street. Waukesha County officials on Tuesday authorized the Department of Parks and Land Use to negotiate, finalize and sign off on the sale of the site to the Milwaukee-based real estate firm.
