Southridge Mall master plan envisions mixed-use future in Greendale

The Village of Greendale is reviewing a new master plan that outlines several potential redevelopment scenarios for the Southridge Mall property, with an eye to the mall site becoming a mixed-use destination in the future.

Earlier this year, the village hired Milwaukee-based RINKA to create a master plan for the nearly 100-acre area around the mall at 5300 S. 76th St. On Tuesday, RINKA presented a draft that imagines more than 20 new buildings, with up too 100,000 square feet of new retail and 1,200 housing units, as well as a public plaza.
